They spent the morning sorting through the papers in the cabinet, stacking them into different categories for Angie to scan later. With only a short break for lunch, they were all tapped out by early afternoon.

Paige was ready to call it a day when Ash entered the office, a worn leather satchel across his shoulders.

“Hey,” he said. “How’s it going?”

“Okay,” Angie said. “Although I wasn’t able to find a lot on the cloud for the past twelve to fifteen months. The record-keeping was great for the first four months and then tapered off until there was almost nothing. The only files that were saved consistently were the bills for the rent on this office and receipts for expenditures, and I think those were saved directly after being scanned.”

“Patrick complained about what a pain it was to scan and save all receipts he was claiming,” Ash said. “So I had him download an app that saved any receipts he scanned directly to our cloud. All he had to do was point his camera at it.”

“At least he was consistent with that,” Angie said. “There were receipts as recent as a week ago.”
